Compost is always in a process of becoming. Materials decompose and worms, like me, turn the compost again. A remix is not an isolated endpoint, but an ever-evolving set of material relationships.
Remix responds to this impetus by re-turning (to) and re-mixing components of previous artworks. Sugar cane mulch has resurfaced from the innards of a disassebled soft sculpture. Microscopic videos of worms in a compost heap have coalesced. Video of digital compost has further decomposed. ‘Composting’ is used as an expanded artistic methodology that traces the evolution of these material relationships across time and space.
