Closed Loop is a video installation that is part of a practice in composting. Decomposed material from a compost system was 3D scanned. The digital renders of these scans were printed on paper and returned to the compost heap. Prints were removed in varying states of decay and video was taken of their material surface, capturing the workings of worms and other compost critters. In Closed Loop I ask, how can decomposed materials circulate between digital and organic landscapes?
